                          Breakfast Trays

Over the last month or two Sam has become my teacher/coach/number one fan when it comes to showing me how to use some of the “bigger tools” that I have been so fearful of using. I mean hellllo they are pretty dangerous. He told me, “girl you are going to be able to use these all by yourself soon”. I said yeah righttttt as fear was screaming in my ear. Well low and behold after weeks of teaching, frustration and joy I can proudly say that I can use 90 percent of the tools in the shop! yayee. It isn’t as easy as it looks either.

            Floating Desk Project

Many of you have been following our journey with the wood business and we could not be more grateful for the outpouring of love and support! It goes such a long way for both of us! I will be sharing more in depth on how this business came to be and how the heck we even got started haha. But for now I plan to take some behind the scenes pictures of what our days look like in our cute little shop where we spend 80 percent of our days ❤

This project was something that we had no done yet but were super stoked when the idea was brought to our attention! As I am sure you have all seen whether on Pinterest or HGTV (we are inspired by everything on that channel), we created a Chevron designed floating desk that was paired with 3 shelves supported by pipes! Let me just tell you, this couple we worked with had such a bright and bubbly yet super chill attitude about everything! They are what you call the “perfect clients” haha! The style of their home matched to the T the desk and shelves and it completed their kitchen!

This is what our process somewhat looked like in the prepping phase:

The prepping is always the fun part as we get to see regular looking wood come to life through many different processes. We can take what was just basic and turn it into something beautiful! Following this day was the installation process. With installations, you can never plan accordingly because things can pop up that we didn’t expect. and sometimes we can get so focused on the detail that is derails us from enjoying the finished product. But through all the of the little bumps along the way, seeing the finished product puts everything into perspective.
